Van Bronckhorst has made a good start to life as Rangers manager, winning all four of his opening games at Ibrox.

The Dutchman has safely navigated Rangers to the last 16 of the Europa League with a game in hand and has managed to maintain their control of the title race in Scotland as well.

Moore is not expecting the new manager to make wholesale changes to the team against Lyon on Thursday night despite Rangers booking their place in the next round of the Europa League.

The former Gers star believes a few players will get an opportunity to impress as the Dutchman continues to assess the squad.

Moore said on the Go Radio Football Show: “Obviously, in terms of the group stages they are going to progress anyway.

“Giovanni will have an opportunity to have some minutes into players that he wants to get up to a certain level.

“I don’t expect wholesale changes but there will be an opportunity for a few to come in.”

Moore is happy with the work his former team-mate has carried out at Rangers and believes despite playing a similar formation to Steven Gerrard’s side, the team are much more measured and controlled in the way they are operating under Van Bronckhorst.

“Gio has done a wonderful job.

“It has been a long time that I have sat and seen Rangers play at home and be comfortable from the first minute to the end.

“It was very measured, very controlled and a lot different in terms of the way Giovanni has been looking to play in the same formation but different changes to the formation from Steven Gerrard.”
