Thiaw rose through the ranks at Schalke and has evolved into one of their key players this season.

The centre-back has started of all Schalke’s 2. Bundesliga games so far this term and his performances have seen him attract interest from abroad.

Serie A heavyweights AC Milan are keen on snapping up Thiaw this month and are locked in talks with Schalke over a move.

However, according to German broadcaster Sport1, the defender also has admirers in the Premier League in the shape of Everton and West Ham.

The Hammers have identified centre-back as a priority position that needs bolstering this month, with first team regular Angelo Ogbonna out for the season through injury, while Everton are also looking to add to their options in the back.

Both the Toffees and West Ham are keen on snapping up Thiaw, while Serie A outfit Napoli are also in the race for his signature.

It remains to be seen where Thiaw will end up playing if he leaves Schalke in the last week of the transfer window.
