Manchester City kept the title race open on Sunday when they dropped points in a 2-2 draw against West Ham at the London Stadium.

Riyad Mahrez missed a late penalty that could have more or less ended the title race but a win for Liverpool against Southampton on Tuesday night will take it to the final day of the season.

A win for Manchester City at home against Aston Villa next Sunday will win them the league title regardless of what Liverpool do in their last two games.

Liverpool are still hanging on but Klopp insisted that Manchester City are still very much the favourites to win the league given the circumstances.

Asked if Liverpool are still in with a chance to win the league, the German said in a press conference: “Is there a big chance? I wouldn’t say so.

“I don’t remember the last time City dropped points two games in a row.

“Aston Villa also have to play midweek.”

A win for Southampton on Tuesday night would hand the Premier League title to Manchester City.
