The forward signed for Hungarian club Ferencvaros last summer and in his maiden season, helped his side lift the league title as well as the Magyar Kupa, their domestic cup competition.

Mmaee played 37 games in all competitions, despite being hampered by injury for some time, and scored 19 goals in addition to providing eleven assists.

His excellent form has seen him become of interest to Scottish champions Celtic, but they are not the only ones following his situation.

Union Saint-Gilloise have now had contact with the entourage of the striker, according to Belgian outlet Walfoot.be.

The Belgian club have lost Deniz Undav to Brighton & Hove Albion this summer, a player who scored 27 goals for them last season, and are looking to fill the gap in the striker position.

Mmaee, though representing Morocco on the international stage, was born in Belgium and has previous experience playing for Belgian clubs.

His contract with Ferencvaros runs until the summer of 2024 and it remains to be seen if the Hungarian club are willing to part with a striker who was so prolific for them the previous season.
