Luiz’s future at Villa Park is under the scanner as he is in the final year of his contract at the club and has been widely linked with an exit.

The signing of midfielder Boubacar Kamara earlier this summer has also added to the uncertainty surrounding Luiz’s future at Aston Villa.

Steven Gerrard’s side are claimed to be open to letting Luiz go for a fee in the €30m to €35m range to not see him walk away for nothing in a year’s time.

Serie A giants Roma have had the Brazilian on their transfer radar for several months now and he is seen as their top target.

And according to Italian outlet Calciomercato.com, Luiz’s agents are set to meet with Roma director Tiago Pinto in the coming hours to discuss a move for the midfielder.

Roma can match Luiz’s wage demands and they feel the player’s agents can play a decisive role in helping them water down Aston Villa’s demands for his signature.

Luiz has been a fixture at Villa Park since arriving at the club in 2019, and it remains to be seen whether he will move to Italy this summer.
