Antony has been the top target for Ten Hag this summer and Manchester United have held talks with the representatives of the Ajax winger.

But Ajax do not want to sell and their £80m asking price has forced Manchester United to look at other options.

Ten Hag wants to add to his forward line before the end of the window and he is again looking for solutions in the Dutch market, with a player who is on Arsenal and Leeds’ radar now in his sights.

It has been claimed PSV Eindhoven’s Gakpo has emerged as an option for the Manchester United manager.

The Dutch winger has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League where Arsenal and Leeds have already shown interest in him and could try to snare him away before the transfer window shuts.

Manchester United have now joined the race and are considering taking him to Old Trafford this summer.

PSV are reluctant to sell him but are likely to relent if they receive a fee in the region of £40m before the end of the window.

Gakpo is still undecided about leaving the Dutch giants just months ahead of the World Cup this winter.
