Spurs are open to letting Gil leave the club this summer as boss Antonio Conte does not consider him a key player or suited to the physicality of the Premier League yet.

The winger spent the latter half of last season on loan at Spanish side Valencia and they are keen on taking him back.

Tottenham would have preferred selling Gil this summer but are open to loaning him out as they aware that the chances of securing a permanent exit for him are low at present.

Valencia are locked in talks with Spurs over the winger and they have intensified efforts to secure a deal soon.

However, according to Spanish daily AS, Valencia will need to agree to terms with Tottenham on what part of the player’s salary they will pay, should both clubs see eye to eye on a loan deal.

Valencia are unable to cover Gil’s entire wages and will need Spurs to chip in with a part of his pay packet, although that will be a topic they will discuss once both clubs agree on a deal for him.

The La Liga outfit are confident they can sign Gil again and a transfer could be sealed in the coming days.
