Pellistri spent last season on loan at Alaves and was impressive during pre-season with Manchester United.

The winger has been expected to be moved on loan again this summer with the player wanting more minutes ahead of the World Cup this winter.

His representatives have been sounding out interested clubs but the winger will not be leaving Old Trafford before 1st September.

According to Spanish Sports daily AS, an injury has blocked his move away from Manchester United this summer.

He suffered an ankle injury against Atletico Madrid in a pre-season game earlier this month.

He is expected to be out for six to eight weeks and that has ended any hopes of him leaving on loan before the end of the window.

The 20-year-old winger will hope to convince Erik ten Hag to give him more first-team minutes once he returns from the injury next month.

Pellistri already has six international caps to his name and is desperate to be part of Uruguay’s World Cup squad this winter.
