Conscious of the possibility that he would struggle for game-time at Chelsea this season, Hudson-Odoi went on loan to German side Bayer Leverkusen in the summer.

The winger has however struggled at the Bundesliga club, yet to open his account in the league in terms of goals and registering just one assist.

There were suggestions that Chelsea may be looking to cut short the loan spell of the 22 year-old before the season is over.

However, Leverkusen want Hudson-Odoi to stay and he is unlikely to be recalled, according to Sky Deutschland.

Chelsea are content with the German side having the winger until the end of the season and are not looking to terminate the loan deal.

Hudson-Odoi’s struggles have been paired up with Leverkusen’s own struggles, but under new coach Xabi Alonso they have picked up three straight Bundesliga wins.

That has seen them climb up to 12th in the table, while the German club also have Europa League football to look forward to and the Chelsea star will be hoping he makes the best of his opportunities when the season resumes.
