The Premier League season is set to resume on Boxing Day following more than a month-long break due to the Word Cup.

Arsenal surprised many when they went into the World Cup break with a five-point lead at the top of the Premier League table but many still believe Manchester City will eventually win the league.

Keys also believes the same thing and cannot see beyond Pep Guardiola’s side for the league but has a different opinion as to who could be their closest challenger.

He is expecting Arsenal to dip in the latter half of the season and has backed Newcastle to be the more serious contenders to Manchester City’s crown than the Gunners at the moment.

Keys took to Twitter and wrote: “Let’s see how this plays over time.

“I still think City will win it – they should win everything really – but I’ve got a feeling Newcastle will mount a better challenge than Arsenal now.”

Newcastle will be in action this afternoon when they take on Leicester City at the King Power Stadium and Eddie Howe will be looking for the Magpies to carry on their momentum from the first half of the campaign.
