Guendouzi has been linked with a return to the Premier League this month after he proved himself in France.

The former Arsenal star is on the radar of Emery who enjoyed working with the Frenchman at the Emirates and wants to reunite with him at Villa Park, with talks having been held.

The Villans are claimed to have made a lucrative offer to Guendouzi to move to the Midlands in the ongoing transfer window.

But according to French sports daily L’Equipe, Marseille are still waiting to receive an official bid from Aston Villa.

With only a few days left in the window, Aston Villa are yet to put in a bid with Marseille to sign the French midfielder.

Aston Villa are interested but it is unclear whether they will make a concrete move for him in the next couple of days.

However, Marseille are certain that even if Guendouzi stays for now, he is likely to leave in the summer.

They are on the cusp of signing Azzedine Ounahi from Angers as a potential replacement for the former Gunner.
