The 27-year-old midfielder looked lost at the start of the season under Giovanni van Bronckhorst and was hardly getting a game on the pitch.

Beale’s arrival in November meant Kamara got another chance to work with a familiar face and he has fought his way back into the Rangers team under the current Gers boss.

Wilson admitted that the midfielder’s career at Rangers looked over under Van Bronckhorst but stressed that Beale has found a way to get the best out of him again.

The former Scotland star pointed to the importance of Kamara looking good again and believes the arrival of Raskin on deadline day will further fuel him as the competition for places in the team will only increase in the coming days.

Wilson said on Clyde 1 when asked about Kamara: “It looked like he was heading out of the door, no doubt about that, under the previous regime.

“Beale has come in, knew the player, worked with him and he looks back to somewhere where he was.

“Got a goal at the weekend followed by a performance [at Hearts] so he looks like he has moved himself into one of the starters.

“When you see a player like Raskin coming in, football is no different to any other job, when you see a player coming in or a staff member coming in for a similar position, all of a sudden your performance levels start going up.

“That’s good for the team and he has certainly rediscovered his form.”

Kamara is likely to start when Rangers host Ross County at Ibrox in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday.
