With Andrea Radrizzani more or less confirming that Leeds are closing in on the appointment of a new manager while responding to a fan’s tweet, the race for the Elland Road hot seat has entered a decisive phase.

Three names, including Feyenoord’s Arne Slot and Marcelo Gallardo, are in the running to become the next Leeds manager.

But it has been claimed that Rayo Vallecano’s Andoni Iraola is the frontrunner to become Jesse Marsch’s successor at Elland Road.

Leeds also held talks with Corberan, who was part of Marcelo Bielsa’s staff at the club previously, but he signed a new contract with West Brom.

It has emerged that the Spaniard was keen on the job but was not left happy with the offer Leeds made.

The Whites were only willing to give him an 18-month deal while Corberan wanted a longer-term contract.

He signed a new two-and-half-year contract with West Brom on Tuesday night to end speculation of a move to Leeds.
