Bajcetic joined Liverpool in January 2021 from Celta Vigo and the 18-year-old impressed Jurgen Klopp with his impressive performances for the Reds development side last season.

This season, the young defensive midfielder has stepped up and his performances for the senior team have been a spark in a struggling Liverpool team.

Bridge-Wilkinson, who worked with Bajcetic during his time with the Under-18s, stated that the player deserves tremendous credit for settling in quickly after moving from Spain.

The Reds Under-18s boss stressed that Bajcetic is a player with good technical ability and stressed that the Spanish midfielder understands the game very well.

Bridge-Wilkinson also added that it is impossible to dismiss the quality the 18-year-old midfielder possesses and pointed out that Bajcetic can defend very well as well.

“You can’t dismiss the quality that he shows, his understanding of the game is very good, his technical ability with the ball and also the way he defends as well, it was a really interesting addition Stefan coming in”, Bridge-Wilkinson told Liverpool’s official site.

“He took to Liverpool really quickly, which was fantastic, and he deserves an awful lot of credit for the way he settled in because it’s not easy coming over to a new country and speaking English as your second language – albeit he did speak English when he came, but he understood it and he picked up the language so quickly.

“His game is fantastic and he came in and hit the ground running, so he deserves a lot of credit for that.”

Bajcetic has featured eleven times in the Premier League this season and the midfielder has also racked up four Champions League appearances.
