The 21-year-old midfielder was sent out on loan to the Blades last summer and despite a difficult start to life at Sheffield United, the Manchester City loanee established himself as a key player in Paul Heckingbottom’s side.

Doyle has made 34 appearances for the Blades this season, scoring four while assisting six goals and has helped Sheffield United earn promotion to the Premier League.

The player has become a fan favourite at Bramall Lane this season and he admitted that he has thoroughly enjoyed playing for the Championship outfit.

Manchester City have a contract with Doyle until the end of June 2025, but the young midfielder expressed his love for Sheffield United and indicated that a return might be a possibility in the future.

When asked whether he would be willing to join the Blades if the opportunity came, Doyle told SUTV: “Listen, I think, like you say, you can see from our faces and the way we have played that we have really enjoyed it.

“We love the club, we love the place here and you never know what will happen.”

Doyle will be focused on ending the season strongly with Sheffield United and it remains to be seen what lies ahead in the future.
