Since Arne Slot’s decision to stay on at Feyenoord, the attention has turned towards Postecoglou, who is now a top contender to become the next manager at Tottenham.

The north London club have their eyes on the Australian, who is adored amongst the Celtic fans, but there is increasing concern at Celtic Park that they could lose him this summer.

However, Postecoglou claimed that he is remaining aloof from all the speculation and stressed that he has never actually planned anything in his career.

He is not paying heed to the rumours and insisted that his focus is on making sure that Celtic win the Scottish Cup final later this month and complete a domestic treble this season.

Asked about all the speculation surrounding him and Spurs, the Celtic manager told Sky Sports Scotland: “And yet I am still here.

“Anyone who knows me that what’s important for me is the here and now.

“I have never planned anything in my football career, my ambitions right now are to enjoy tomorrow and then try and win a cup final and make it a special year.

“It’s not every year you get an opportunity to win a treble.

“If they think that I am thinking about anything else, they don’t know.”

It remains to be seen whether the cup final later this month could end up becoming his last game as Celtic manager.
