Tottenham are claimed to have agreed a verbal deal with Celtic boss Postecoglou to become their next manager next season.

And the north London outfit are pushing the deal to get over the line soon so that the Australian manager can start work.

Postecoglou is a big admirer of his deputy at Celtic, Kennedy, and wants to take the 53-year-old to Tottenham.

However, Celtic are keen on holding on to Kennedy, who has been working at Parkhead as an assistant manager since the 2018/19 season.

It has been suggested that if a deal for Kennedy to move to Tottenham does not happen now, then Postecoglou will revisit it when he has his feet under the table in north London.

Kennedy previously turned down opportunities to leave Celtic and it remains to be seen whether an offer from Tottenham could change that.

Spurs are expected to appoint Postecoglou to a two-year contract with an option to extend it for another year.
