Weghorst, 30, has been on the books at the Turf Moor outfit since January last year and he witnessed two loan spells this season at Besiktas and Manchester United, respectively.

Unlike his sublime touch at Istanbul, Weghorst did not find the net often for the Red Devils, but he garnered plaudits from boss Erik ten Hag for his contribution nevertheless.

The Dutch forward has recently been linked with Everton following the Toffees retaining the Premier League status by the skin of their teeth.

Now it is claimed that the Burnley frontman is not on Everton’s list of summer targets amid the Goodison Park outfit eyeing improving upon this term’s performances next season.

Everton boss Sean Dyche previously worked with Weghorst during the former’s tenure at Burnley.

But it seems that the Toffees are not looking to reunite Weghorst with Dyche and they prefer to turn their attention elsewhere in the bid to bolster their attacking ranks.

The Dutch international has still two years on his contract with the Clarets.

And it remains to be seen whether the Premier League new boys want to keep hold of Weghorst this summer amid their plans to stay afloat next season.
