Dominic Matteo has stressed that the leaders inside the Leeds United squad will have to make sure that they get the result they need at Queens Park Rangers tonight regardless of the performance.

Following a run of three games without a win, Leeds scored a massive win in their pursuit of automatic promotion when they beat Middlesbrough 4-3 at the Riverside Stadium on Monday night.

With two games left in the season, Leeds are sitting second but Ipswich Town have a game in hand over the Whites and are only a point behind.

Leeds are aware of the importance of getting a win at Loftus Road tonight and Matteo insisted that it is all about getting a result regardless of how they play at his stage of the season.

The former White stressed that the leaders in the Leeds squad need to show up and make sure that they leave London tonight with three points in the bag.

The former Leeds star said on LUTV: “In this part of the season it’s about who has got the bottle to get the results.

“It doesn’t matter how you play, it’s all about getting the results and so for us, we need our characters and leaders to stand up and be counted at QPR.

“I am sure they will be up for this at this stage of the season but we need those key players.”

Leeds will finish the season with a home game against Southampton on the final day of the campaign.
