Celtic are in ongoing negotiations with Serie A outfit Torino to bring Gvidas Gineitis to Celtic Park before the transfer window closes.
Martin O’Neill’s side are already preparing to welcome Oliver Sorensen and Joel van den Berg into their engine room, joining from Parma and PSV Eindhoven, respectively.
That, however, has not deterred the Bhoys from continuing their search for midfield reinforcements, with Gineitis still firmly within their sights.

The Glasgow giants’ pursuit of the Lithuania international dates back to July, with the midfielder identified as having the right profile for the club.
O’Neill’s side saw their latest offer emphatically turned down by Torino last night, with indications at the time that a deal was unlikely to materialise.
However, according to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, Celtic are in still negotiations with Torino to find a solution for Gineitis, with the Bhoys determined to prise him away and take him to Parkhead.
Whether that persistence will ultimately translate into an agreement remains to be seen, although Celtic’s continued resolve could yet tip the balance in their favour.

Gineitis has three years remaining on his contract in Turin, leaving the Serie A outfit in a strong position to demand a substantial fee before sanctioning his departure.
Earlier in the window it was suggested that the Serie A outfit are looking for a fee in the region of €10m to part ways with the midfielder, but it is not clear whether they have dropped their asking price yet.
Celtic have still time to find an agreement for Gineitis, who they have been chasing through out this summer, as Scottish transfer window will close on 3rd September.
However, with the European registration deadline a day earlier, it is a deal they will not want to hang around with.
Meanwhile, the midfield picture at Celtic Park could involve movement in the opposite direction before the window closes, with Reo Hatate potentially heading for a move to the Championship.
The Bhoys are also closing in on securing the signature of Chelsea’s 18-year-old striker Shim Mheuka on a season-long loan as he is set to undergo a medical.
