Juventus captain Alessandro Del Piero, is desperate to repeat his side’s performance at the weekend that saw them valiantly claim victory in the Derby d’Italia and cement third place in the Serie A. The 35-year-old, who managed his first league start in the tense match, is hoping the huge win will start a run of good performances that will see his team reach their true potential.

We have to go out on the pitch with the same fighting spirit we showed against Inter because that is our main strength," the Del Piero said to UEFA’s official website. “We hope the win against Inter will provide a boost like the one against Real Madrid last year, when we went on from there to build a long streak of good results," explained the Italian international. "We want to repeat that feat."

Italian giants Juventus, who snapped a two-game losing streak with a win over Serie A leaders Inter Milan, at the weekend, face Bayern Munich on Tuesday night, needing only a draw to ensure qualification. They currently sit third in the league, only five points adrift Jose Mourinho’s Inter.
