Former Celtic and Barcelona striker Henrik Larsson has taken his first steps into management by accepting an offer to become coach of Swedish second division side Landskrona. The 38-year-old officially hung up his boots for good in November, playing for Helsingborg.
“I am very flattered by this offer, given that I don’t have any experience as a coach," said Larsson to Sky Sports. "I wanted to become a coach and when I was officially asked by Landskrona, I said yes. I look forward to it and we’ll see where I can take this. I will need an assistant coach to help me."
The Swede had clearly stated his desire to move into management after his playing career, with many linking him with a return to Scottish giants Celtic. He joins Landskrona with a contract keeping him at the club until November next year.
