Reports linking highly-rated Barcelona youngster Keirrison to Liverpool, have been quashed after the player’s agent explained such a move would be unproductive for his client’s development. The 21-year-old was signed by the Catalan giants in the summer, but was immediately loaned out to Portuguese side Benfica. He has failed to command a place in the squad however, and has managed just four appearances so far.

That would be a very nice place to go but I think that we should talk directly with Barcelona to see if they have the interest to loan him to Liverpool," Malaquias told ESPN Soccernet. "I don’t think that going to Liverpool will change this position because Liverpool is a very big club with very good strikers so I think that the same situation could happen. They want a club that he could have minutes to play and I don’t think that Liverpool is this club

The youngster created a name for himself playing for Brazilian side Coritiba, where he became the league’s youngest top scorer in 2008.
