Real Madrid have stated their wish for 2010, and surprisingly it is not La Liga. The Spanish giants are desperate to lift the Champions League, which is scheduled to be played in their home ground, the Bernabeu, on 22nd May.

President Florentino Perez, Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka and Raul all met to toast Christmas and set targets for 2010, according to Madrid based daily Marca.

Ronaldo stated that the Champions League final was high on their agenda. "It would be amazing to reach the Champions League final for both the players and the fans."

Kaka was also clear that 2010 could be a year to remember. "We can play the [Champions League] final at home, and it is a key objective to fight for it for our fans. It will also be a special year because of the World Cup. It would be great to enjoy a good year with Real Madrid and the national team."

Raul acknowledged that he was entering 2010 in a position he had never before experienced, that of not being a regular starter. Nevertheless, the Real legend was set on the Champions League too. "My greatest desire is to help the team win the tenth [Champions League]. We will make a big effort because the final being here at home we must really try."
