Marseille midfielder Mathieu Valbuena looks set to leave the south coast club in the January transfer window. The 25-year-old is no longer in coach Didier Deschamps’ plans and has reportedly been offered to a number of Ligue 1 clubs.

Valbuena, who has in the past attracted attention from clubs in the English Premier League, amongst them Aston Villa, Everton, and even Liverpool, is keen to enjoy more of a regular role, something not available at Marseille. He also is rumoured not to see eye to eye with Deschamps.

According to Le Parisien, the Bordeaux youth product was recently offered to Paris Saint-Germain, but the capital club were not interested in concluding a deal.

The door is now seemingly open for Valbuena’s English suitors to make a move for the player, though Monaco are believed to be keen to keep him in Ligue 1.
