Free-agent Goran Pandev has expressed his desire to return to Inter Milan, now that he his free of his contract with former club Lazio. The Macedonian international was in an unusual position of being isolated at the Roman club after he had handed in a transfer request that wasn’t granted. He has since won his legal battle with his former employers, and has expressed his wish to rejoin the Serie A champions, who signed him as an 18-year-old back in 2001.

"In my career I have never been afraid of competition for places because I have faith in my abilities," the striker told Makedonjia Sport. "Inter is a great club and matches my ambitions, which are to fight for the various titles and play in the Champions League. But there is nothing yet sorted with the Nerazzurri club."

Inter Milan are in search of a striker in the January transfer window, and Pandev is one of the players they are said to be interested in. Transfer consultant Gariele Oriali confirmed this by saying, “It is no secret that we like him. He has unique characteristics which would integrate well with the strikers we already have."
