Bayern Munich outcast Luca Toni has fuelled speculation linking him with Roma by expressing his confidence the deal will push through in January. The former Fiorentina striker has been in hot water with the German giants since he publicly expressed his desire to leave, and hasn’t played a senior team match since November.
Bayern president Uli Hoeness, earlier this month expressed his willingness to urgently offload the Italian, claiming the striker will be allowed to leave in January, and if necessary, even for free.
Toni’s agent has since reported genuine interest from Serie A side Roma, a move that the 32-year-old is desperate to complete. “Nothing is certain yet but I want to move to AS Roma and I will do it," he told La Gazzetta dello Sport .
