Sampdoria striker Giampaolo Pazzini has been the centre of much transfer speculation in recent times, with many pointing to Manchester City as a possible destination. The 25-year-old Italian has flourished since his transfer from Fiorentina in January, forming what is arguably the most lethal strike partnership in Serie A with Antonio Cassano. Although flattered by all the attention, the Italian has been quick to cite his contentment with his present club.

I’ve heard these rumours, but I know nothing," he said to Sky Sports. "It is flattering to hear these rumours, but I feel really good at Sampdoria. I am very happy here and I think I will stay in Genoa."

Pazzini has scored 19 goals in 32 appearances for Sampdoria since his arrival, an impressive tally that has helped the club to eighth in the Italian league standings, only five points behind third placed Juventus.
