Barcelona are apparently thinking of replacing Thierry Henry with Valencia’s David Silva, according to reports coming from Spain. Whilst such a move is still thought to be unlikely in the January transfer window, it seems that Henry’s days at the Camp Nou may be coming to an end.

Henry, who will be 33 by the time the 2010/11 La Liga season starts, has been linked with a move to the MLS, specificially with the New York Red Bulls. Valencia’s David Silva is seen by coach Josep Guardiola as the perfect option for the European Champions’ and could slot into Henry’s role with ease.

One possible obstacle with the move however could be an unwillingness of Barcelona president Joan Laporta to negotiate with Valencia. Spanish press reports suggest that Laporta is thought to be unhappy with Valencia’s conduct over Barcelona’s pursuit of David Villa in the summer, with the on-off transfer frustrating the Camp Nou board.
