AC Milan are still keen on a move for Wolfsburg striker Edin Dzeko but will first check on the availability of Fernando Torres, according to Corriere dello Sport. The Italians moved for Bosnian forward Dzeko in the summer but with the German champions unwilling to sell accepted defeat and completed the signing of Klaas-Jan Huntelaar instead. Huntelaar however has proved to be a disappointment for the Serie A giants.

Milan have first though, according to the report, decided to check on Fernando Torres at Liverpool. The Premier League side have well documented financial troubles, which have severely restricted coach Rafael Benitez’s spending power, and whilst doubts persist over the certainty of Champions League football at Anfield next season, a number of vultures appear prepared to believe in the possibility of picking apart the Reds’ crown jewels.

The Italians’ chances of snapping up Torres appear remote however, especially as Benitez stated recently that if the Spanish striker were sold he would resign. Torres also, despite much speculation, shows no intention of wanting to exit the Premier League giants.
