New Man City boss Roberto Mancini has denied that he was in contact with Juventus about taking over from coach Ciro Ferrara.
There had been speculation within Italy that Mancini was in discussions with the Juventus board about taking over at the Serie A giants, especially given Ferrara’s terrible recent run. Mancini dismissed this however, telling Sky Sport 24, "There was never any contact with any official at Juventus. Although at this time they have some problems it is right they are keeping faith with their coach."
The 45-year-old did admit however that he had fielded four or five offers, but only one from an Italian team. Man City was chosen because, "I think Man City could have a great future. I accepted because it is a great challenge."
