Brazilian striker Edu has returned to the German Bundesliga. After a two-year stint with the Korean side Suwon Samsung Bluewings, the 28-year-old has penned a contract with Schalke 04, which will run until June 2013. The Bundesliga club confirmed the signing on its official website last night.
Edu, who also played for Bundesliga clubs VfL Bochum (2003-06) and Mainz 05 (2006-07) until his departure to Asia, appeared 73 times for the Suwon Bluewings and managed to find the net 26 times.
The striker will without a doubt be a welcome addition to the squad as Schalke prepare to take on Leverkusen and Bayern Munich in what is promising to be a very close title race.
