Ligue 1 side Sochaux are reportedly stepping up their pursuit of Rangers striker Kris Boyd. Currently 15th in the French top flight, Sochaux need to develop a cutting edge to their game and believe Boyd could be the answer to their problems.
With Rangers at present suffering well known financial difficulties Sochaux think a bid of around €1M would be enough to tempt the Scottish side to release their prolific striker. Boyd’s salary is also thought to present no problems for the French team.
Sochaux president Alexandre Lacombe told L’equipe that the Scot’s "salary is not prohibitively expensive" and he believes Boyd "would really come to France".
With Rangers playing Celtic in the Old Firm game today, Sochaux will once again send a representative in the form of Gerard Battles to check on Boyd.
