Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti has refuted claims he is ready to sell Florent Malouda after the Frenchman publicly expressed displeasure at being left out in big games. Despite the former Lyon winger threatening to move elsewhere to ensure his place in the France World Cup squad, Ancelotti has been unperturbed by his player’s actions.

Speaking to Sky Sports, the Italian manager said, "It’s normal that a player wants to play every game. Above all, the important games. For us, for me, Malouda is an important player. It’s important, when a player doesn’t play, to have a good reaction. For me, every game is important and he plays a lot of games. I was a player and when I didn’t play, I was a little bit frustrated"

With Chelsea already without the services of Didier Drogba, John Obi Mikel, Salomon Kalou, and Michael Essien for the African Cup of Nations, Ancelotti cannot afford to lose any more players.
