Liverpool left-back Andrea Dossena has ended his unsuccessful spell at Anfield, after securing a four-year deal with Serie A side Napoli, according to Italian source La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Italian 28-year-old moved to Liverpool from Udinese in 2008, but failed to make an impact at the club. He has managed a total of only 29 appearances since his arrival, with only three outings this season so far. The defender had previously stated the difficulty he was having in adjusting to the rigours of the Premier League, and it seems he has chosen to return to the more familiar surroundings of the Serie A.

Dossena, who cost Liverpool £7M, is reported to have been acquired by Napoli for €5M.
