Freddy Adu has ended speculation linking him with Premier League side Hull City by agreeing to sign an 18-month loan deal with Greek side Aris FC. The 20-year-old had been considering a move to the English strugglers, but has decided that opportunities for regular football were more likely in Greece.

A statement on the club’s website read: "Aris FC announces the agreement with the American soccer player Freddy Adu from Benfica on a loan until [June 2011 with] an option [to] buy."

The wonder-kid, who was once seen as the great American hope for a football superstar, has had very limited success since moving away from the United States based MLS. Adu has the opportunity to once again become one of football’s hottest commodities by staking a claim in the Aris FC squad.
