La Liga’s latest teenage sensation Sergio Canales is garnering massive interest from Spanish giants Real Madrid according to Sport. The 18-year-old received widespread praise after a magnificent performance at the weekend, scoring both goals in Racing Santander’s 2-1 win over Sevilla.
Canales, a product of his present club’s youth system, broke into the first-team in 2008, and has since made only 13 appearances so far. The Spanish midfielder has blossomed as of late however, and his upsurge in form has not gone unnoticed, with even Premier League sides said to be tracking his progress and availability.
Such is Real Madrid’s desire to sign the budding star that they are willing to loan back Canales to Racing for one season should he agree to join Los Blancos – the same arrangement Ezequiel Garay was subject to upon his transfer to the Spanish giants from Racing in 2008.
