According to France Football, the proposed switch of Inter Milan’s Mancini to Ligue 1 side Olympique Marseille is all but complete. It is understood that the clubs reached an agreement on the specifications regarding the player’s loan on Wednesday night, after a brief break in negotiations during the weekend. The 29-year-old however, has requested a short break of up to two days before officially joining up with Didier Deschamps’ squad.
Mancini, who moved to Inter Milan in the summer of last year, has been desperate for more playing time, having failed to live up to manager Jose Mourinho’s expectations. The former Roma winger made only 26 appearances for the Nerazzurri since his transfer. With the World Cup set to get underway in just a few months, Mancini will be keen to have as many opportunities as possible to impress Brazil coach Dunga. In Marseille, he will have the perfect opportunity to do just that.
