Everton manager David Moyes is considering rescuing Philippe Senderos from his Arsenal nightmare to fill the void left by Lucas Neill’s switch to Galatasaray. The Scot is considering a few defensive options and the Swiss international is one that is seriously being assessed, according to the Liverpool Echo.

Moyes had tried to sign the 24-year-old player in the summer, but was put off by Arsenal’s insistence of a £5M valuation. With Senderos’ contract set to expire in the summer however, the Gunners’ will be more keen to ensure negotiations are more positive.

The out-of-favour defender has publicly stated his desire to leave The Emirates for regular football, as he intends to cement his spot in the Switzerland World Cup squad.
