AC Milan’s Mathieu Flamini is set to return to the Premier League, according to France Football, with newly-rich Manchester City. The Frenchman would join compatriot and former Arsenal team-mate Patrick Vieira, who recently arrived at the club from Inter Milan.
The 25-year-old, who, with the arrival of David Beckham, slipped further down the Milan midfield pecking order, is believed to have joined the Citizens on loan until the end of the season.
Flamini will be keen to rediscover his 2007/08 form, when he consistently impressed as an Arsenal regular in his fourth and final season. With his move to the Italian giants not turning out as well as he had hoped, a return to the familiar rigours of the Premier League could be what’s necessary for him to revive his abilities, and possibly even find a slot in the France World Cup squad.
