Wolverhampton Wanderers are believed to have made a move for Stoke City striker James Beattie. Beattie, who was involved in an incident with Stoke boss Tony Pulis in December, and has seen himself slip out of the first-team picture at the Britannia Stadium, may welcome a move to Wolves.

The Midlands side have been reported as having had a £3M bid accepted by Stoke and are now hopeful of concluding a deal with the former Blackburn Rovers striker as they search for reinforcements to aid their fight against relegation.

Beattie has impressed at Stoke since arriving from Sheffield United and Wolves boss Mick McCarthy will be hopeful that should he sign the striker, he can reproduce some of the form he showed soon after becoming a Potters player.
