Various sources claim Manchester United defender Danny Simpson, is set to make his loan deal at Newcastle permanent. The recently turned 23-year-old, who has been routinely loaned out by Sir Alex Ferguson, enjoyed his most successful spell yet, and is ready to make the switch to the Championship side.
The United youth academy product started showing signs of potentially breaking into the first-team in the 2007/08 season, after a few impressive performances endeared him to Red Devils’ supporters.
Unimpressive spells at Ipswich Town and Blackburn Rovers however, coupled with the arrival of the unexpectedly fast-learning Da Silva twins, Simpson is unlikely to have a place in the United squad, should he choose to return. A switch to Tyneside is believed to be imminent.
