A 2-0 win against Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield, has given the Livepool supporters more hope that Champions League football next season isn’t just a fantasy. The crucial victory lifted the Reds to sixth place in the Premier League, just a point off fourth-placed Tottenham.

"It was important for everyone here because we had to reduce the gap and stay in the race," said Benitez to the British press. “Everyone knows Liverpool are a good team and it was just a question of time to start winning games and showing our quality. Other teams are also strong but now they know the race will be with four teams."

Aston Villa, Manchester City, and Tottenham are all battling with Liverpool for the fourth and final Champions League spot. With all four teams just a point or two away from each other, the race for fourth place, will definitely be an exciting one to watch unfold.
