Youngster Elliot Grandin, who played one season for Olympique Marseille before being released from his contract last September, has joined CSKA Sofia on a one-and-a-half year contract according to France Football. The 22-year-old striker is the first signing of loan Andone, the Bulgarian club’s new manager.

Grandin was on trial at Premier League side Stoke in August of last year, but failed to impress the management enough for the club to sign him on a permanent deal. Upon his availability after being released by Marseille, a host of clubs have been keen to land his services.

Although Romanian side Rapid Bucharest seemed his most likely destination, CSKA Sofia, who finished second in last season’s Bulgarian league, have come out on top.
