Manchester United utility man John O’Shea, who plays primarily as a defender, has been ruled out for the rest of the season after the injury he sustained on international duty in mid-November has turned for the worse, according to France Football. This news comes as a massive blow to the Red Devils, who could use all the help they can get in a injury-ravaged defence.
“He’s got a terrible injury at the moment,” Sir Alex Ferguson said. “The problem is that the blood clot became all knotted and when it gets knotted you get calcification, so therefore it’s a long process.”
O’Shea will be gutted to miss this campaign after solidifying his place in the squad with 54 appearances last season.
