Bolton Wanderers defender Paul Robinson has revealed the frustration in the club locker room over the controversial incident involving William Gallas and Mark Davies, which led to Arsenal’s equalising goal. He has called on referee Alan Wiley to make a public apology.
"It was a joke decision," Robinson told the Bolton News. "And it happened right in front of him. We are very upset with the referee – who has got to hold his hands up and publicly say he was wrong. We’ll be taking our frustrations out on anyone that comes in front of us now."
To add Bolton’s frustration, it was announced yesterday that Arsenal defender Gallas will not face punishment from the Football Association for his late challenge that left Davies with minor ankle damage.
