Ajax’s in-demand forward Luis Suarez has extended his contract with the Dutch club by a further year, putting his name to a deal which now runs until 2013. The Uruguayan, who is also the captain of the club, has been the subject of much interest from European powerhouses such as Manchester United, Liverpool, Internazionale and Juventus.
Suarez has been a sensation since he joined Ajax in 2007 for a fee of €7.5M, moving from fellow Dutch side Groningen. He is expected to further announce himself to the footballing world at the forthcoming World Cup in South Africa.
