The future of one of the Australian A-League’s biggest stars, Robbie Fowler, is in doubt following his refusal to sit on the bench for North Queensland Fury’s match against Brisbane Roar. The former Liverpool legend was thought to be unhappy about being left out of the starting line-up, and instead watched from the stands.
Fowler’s wife has also so far failed to settle in Townsville, where the North Australia club are based, and this has further added to the doubt surrounding his future. He had told the Daily Mail earlier in the week, "The kids are very adaptable to where they are, but the wife still needs a bit of convincing."
When he has taken to the pitch Fowler has been a success, bagging nine goals so far in the league season. He is also the team’s captain.
