Former Manchester United fan favourite Carlos Tevez, has heaped praise on his new club, and fierce city-rivals Manchester City. The Argentinean failed to reach an agreement with the United management regarding a permanent transfer in the summer, and opted to turn his red shirt in for a blue jersey.
“The welcome I received from the moment I arrived at City has been very special. I was made to feel loved and this means a lot to any footballer,” Tevez said in ESPN Soccernet. “I think the United fans know I tried hard. City is my club now, a place where I feel part of everything. Maybe this wasn’t always the way at United.”
With Man City and Man Utd locking horns in the delicately poised Carling Cup semi-final in midweek, the spotlight will be shining heavily on the lively Tevez, who scored both goals at Eastlands to give the Citizens a 2-1 lead heading into what will surely be a fiery affair at Old Trafford.
