According to ESPN Soccernet, Villarreal striker Marco Ruben is set to join Premier League side Wigan Athletic. The 23-year-old Argentinean has been impressive for the Spanish club’s reserves, and such form has not gone unnoticed by Latics manager Roberto Martinez.
"Ruben is already in England and we expect his transfer to be completed either this morning or later today,” Villarreal’s press officer Hernan Sanz said. "The clubs have reached an agreement and all that is needed is for the player to put pen to paper.”
The former River Plate player failed to feature for the Villarreal first-team in his stint with the club, but is determined to propel his career forwards with a move to Wigan and the prestigious Premier League.
